It seems that the fan base is largely split between those who love either RCT2 or love RCT3, and aren't too keen on the other game. What I find surprising is how many people state the graphics as the main reason. Personally, I couldn't care less about the graphics being cartoonish or not. What I care about is the gameplay, tactics and tycoon-ing qualities.
What puts me firmly in the RCT2 camp is the difficulty, freedom and coaster design. I have spent hours and hours designing different parks, trying different strategies, quitting and re-starting with a new tactic in mind. Always trying to build the perfect park. And designing all sorts of fun rollercoasters, getting the excitement rating and intensity well balanced, then watching the queue lines fill up and checking everybodys comments after they read it.
The thing I really dislike about RCT3 is how easy it is, and also little freedom you have to create the park how you want. Usually in RCT3 I have completed all the objectives before I am even halfway to building the park that I want. I haven't even concentrated on the objectives they just complete themselves. Also, in my opinion building the rollercoasters just isn't fun. I don't really know why, it seems more difficult and less satisfying. And the worst thing of all, the peeps don't even bother to ride a coaster after you have spent a long time creating a really good one.
To get back to the forum -ideas and feature requests, my main request would be appropriate difficultly - something you need to work on and try different strategies. This would include varied objectives. And you should be rewarded after you create a good ride/ area. Peeps should rush to it, comment on it etc.
