Rollercoaster Tycoon Keeps Freezing

Rollercoaster Tycoon Keeps FreezingOct 18, 2009

I've been wanting to re-live this classic for a while now, but after running flawlessly on my Windows 7 x64 system it freezes, locking the entire system and requires a full restart (No BSOD, just entire system lock-up). I've researched everywhere and tried everything in my power to try and get this game to work without crashing (Compatibility mode, patches/addons etc) but to no avail. Other forums have said the game works fine on both 64 and 32 bit versions of Windows 7 so I'm wondering if it may be my hardware...
Specs:
MOBO: Gigabyte P965-S3
GFX: nVidia 8800GTS 640mb
RAM: 4GB/800Mhz DDR2
CPU: Q6600 2.4Ghz
OS: Windows 7 RC x64
DUAL-MONITOR SETUP
I even tried emulating the game in a VM but it doesn't recognise the graphics card (Didn't expect to to on a VM...)

Games

Jul 28, 2013  I have roller coaster tycoon 2 on my computer, and whenever I run it, It plays fine for 5-10 minutes, and then just freezes. I can still hear the game noises, such as the ambient crowds, and the sound of the merry-go-round. When the game freezes, I just turn off my computer via the button, and then restart, and attempt again, with the same result. Jul 12, 2013  I recently bought Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Platinum. I installed it on to my laptop, and I also downloaded ATH Catwalks to use with it too. But every time I go on to the scenery menu to add catwalks to rides, the games crashes. And a message saying 'No:svd for:sid' comes up. I have re-downloaded both the game and the ATH Catwalks but the game still keeps on crashing. What should I do? Locate the executable (usually under C: GOG Games RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 Triple Thrill Pack RCT2.EXE), open the file properties dialog and switch to the 'Compatibility' tab. Set the compatibility mode to 'Windows 98 / Windows Me' and check the 'Disable Visual Themes' checkbox. The game should run properly now. I tested this on Windows 7.
